Ah, 'tis that time of year again. How I do so love the autumnal references our picture boxes throw at us, especially since it's Spring here in the Southern Hemisphere.

I want to talk to you today about Derren Brown. There's something quite remarkable about this man, not least that he can make you think things without you noticing. What a genius, he can make things happen seemingly by coincidence, and then show you that he had it planned out all along.

Go and look at his street magic or live stage shows on Youtube. He's even more amazing in those than in his more elaborate tricks on his television specials (although he doesn't seem to go in for the awful Copperfield kind of magic acts, thank god).

He has a deliciously viscious sense of humour if you pay attention, though he's never cruel to the people he uses in his tricks (unlike other street magicians *cough*Angel*cough*Powers*cough*). He's gorgeous and charming and totally adorable when he does his little Uri Geller impressions "My feengers are... bhending. Everybody, one two three... bhending! *nods*" (I admit to watching that little clip of the video at least 10 times over in the last 5 minutes, and giggling my arse off).

... and I'm certain that he sends out subliminal messages in his videos/tv appearences to make every female member of the audience want to sleep with him. I know it's working on me!

And that is pretty much all that my life is about right now; figuring out a way to somehow study/work in the UK so I can meet Derren Brown/David Tennant and have them magically fall in love with me. I can dream, Jim...

Just a little update to mention... that... I'm actually doing well at uni!

Saw and met Weird Al Yankovic last Friday night, which really REALLY cheered me up... I think I'll be buzzing for at least a month! And now that Comfest has arrived (I'm going to the Gala this Wednesday, wheee~), I have no excuse to feel down!

In other news, I'm going to make a jacket for a friend so I can fine-tune my jacket making skillz, so that when I get around to making my friend Kyle's Vash The Stampede cosplay for Manifest this year, it will be made of awesomesauce. Made of it I say!
